Issue No.135 : Ramadhaan 1445
Islam has placed great emphasis on purifying one’s heart. A Hadeeth by our beloved Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam concerning the Day of Judgment, says: “Verily Allah does not look to your physical features and your wealth, but He looks at your heart and your deeds.” (Muslim) Those with sound hearts are also among the best of people. When our beloved Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam was once asked, “Which of the people is best?” He replied, “Everyone who is pure of heart and sincere in speech.” (Ibn Majah)
As we welcome the month of Ramadhaan, it is the perfect opportunity to purge and purify the heart from maladies like enmity, hatred, resentment, greed, avarice, egotism, vindictiveness etc. Avoid slander at all costs especially of the type that we have encountered recently on extortion in Halaal certification. Simply verify facts before spreading information.
Slander stems from a diseased heart and a diseased heart cannot secure the rewards of fasting as conveyed in the Hadeeth, “If one does not abandon falsehood and other actions like it, Allah Ta’ala has no need that one should abstain from food and drink.” (Sahih al-Bukhari)
SANHA takes this opportunity of wishing one and all a spiritually uplifting Ramadhaan that abounds in deeds of goodness, and beseeches your forgiveness for our shortcomings of the past year. May Allah Ta’ala accept our acts of devotion and worship, and make them a means of a sustained and enduring spiritual overhaul.
We request your Du’aas.
PS. Our Ramadhaan office hours will be as follows: 09h00 to 16h00
