ACCREDITATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS
Through the sheer grace and mercy of Allah Ta’ala, SANHA enjoys the accreditation and recognition of the following international bodies.
GCC Accreditation Centre (GAC)
The GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) Accreditation Centre was established with the approval of the ministers concerned with standardization in the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and the Republic of Yemen as an independent body that provides accreditation services to conformity assessment bodies and activities related to accreditation such as training and awareness, as well as representing member states in international forums related to accreditation activities around the world.
The GCC Accreditation Centre specialises in the fields of calibration, measurement, testing, inspection and certification, known generically as conformity assessment. It is established under the stewardship of the Standardization Organization of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and is governed by a Board of Directors who conduct regular supervision over the affairs of the Centre.
SANHA is proud to have been accredited with GAC since 2017.
Emirates International Accreditation Centre
The Emirates International Accreditation Centre (EIAC) is a governmental accreditation body based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It was established in the year 2015 pursuant to Law number (27) for the year 2015. This law was issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai. The main activity of EIAC is to accredit Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs), both Governmental and Private, within the UAE and overseas, including Laboratories (Testing, Calibration and Medical), Inspection Bodies, Certification Bodies (Management System, Product Certification and Personal Certification), Halal Conformity Assessment Bodies, Proficiency Testing Program Providers, Reference Materials Production Activities, Validation and Verification Activities.
EIAC is a successor of Dubai Accreditation Center (DAC) which started accreditation activities in the early 90s and is the largest accreditation body in the Middle East region.
SANHA has been accredited with EIAC since 2019.
JabatanKemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM)
Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Malay: JabatanKemajuan Islam Malaysia) or popularly known as JAKIM, is a federal government agency that administers Islamic affairs in Malaysia.
JAKIM plays a pivotal role in the development and progress of Muslims in Malaysia whilst preserving the purity of Islamic Beliefs and teachings.
The organizations structure comprises 3 main sectors which are then further divided. The Halaal Management Division is amongst one of these and whose primary role is to carry out Halaal enforcement and supervision.
JAKIM recognises foreign halal certification bodies (FHCB) which act as JAKIM representatives to monitor and verify the Halaal status of raw materials and are authorised to give Halaal certification.
SANHA has been recognised by JAKIM since inception.
Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura
Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (Muis), also known as the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore, was established as a statutory body in 1968 when the Administration of Muslim Law Act (AMLA) came into effect. Under AMLA, Muis is to advise the President of Singapore on all matters relating to Islam in Singapore.
The role of Muis is to see that the many and varied interests of Singapore’s Muslim community are looked after.
Among the principal functions of Muis are:
- Administration of Zakat, Wakaf (endowment), pilgrimage affairs, Halaal certification and other activities related to the socio-religious life of Muslims in Singapore
- Construction, development, administration and management of mosques
- Development and administration of Islamic Education and Madrasah
- Issuance of religious guidance to the community
United Arab Emirates Ministry of Industry & Advanced Technology
Established in July 2020, the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) aims to boost the UAE’s industrial sector and increase its contribution to the GDP. The Office of the Minister of State for Advanced Technology, the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA) and the Industry sector in the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure have been merged into the structure of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology since then, and all authorities, responsibilities and duties have been transferred to the newly founded Ministry.
MoIAT develops laws and policies to establish a world-class industrial development framework to attract FDI and bright minds, enhance in-country value (ICV), foster entrepreneurship, create jobs, upskill local talent and boost exports of ‘Made in the Emirates.’ products.
From encouraging the establishment of industrial zones to building capacities in advanced technology, MoIAT accelerates industrial development to contribute to a diversified knowledge-based economy and achieve industrial self-sufficiency.
Also, Quality Infrastructure is considered a crucial component to the success of “Operation 300 Billion”, as the entire system falls under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, upon the integration of the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology within the Ministry’s structure.
SANHA has been recognised by the ministry’s predecessor ESMA since 2017 and is now recognised by MoIAT.
Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization
The Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization (SASO) seeks to provide the best services to beneficiaries, protect consumer health and safety, and is continuously developing and updating Saudi standards and technical regulations to protect our national markets from counterfeit, inferior, and fraudulent goods, and to support the national economy.
SANHA is recognised by SASO as a Conformity Assessment Body.
