Why Halaal?
Halaal has become a truly global phenomenon worth trillions of dollars with an impact beyond the food sector. Demand has also mushroomed in areas such as logistics, food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, cosmetics, fashion/clothing, tourism, banking and investments. It is driven by a religious imperative where Halaal consumption and lawful trade is a mandatory article of faith for 1,8 Billion Muslims who account for 24 percent of the 7,8 Billion inhabitants of the planet which puts it on a recession-proof trajectory.
The Theme
Knowledge and trade are the lifeblood in the development of nations, for it teaches the value of human capital & enterprise and the responsibilities that go with it. Countries are no longer individual islands but are families of the global village communicating in a borderless cyber world. Transactions are effected between ever-growing international food producers who want to serve a burgeoning market where the consumer is more conscious of Halaal than ever before, hence the theme “Halaal Beyond Boundaries”
Why a Conference
The Noble Quran itself has recorded the words of the Almighty Allah as stated: “Let there be amongst you traffic and trade by mutual goodwill…” (Chapter 4 : verse 29)
With our 28 year experience in certification, SANHA has endeavoured to build bridges between the various stakeholders in the supply chain through its participation in seminars, workshops and trade exhibitions.
Research has shown that conferences are still one of the most effective ways to generate positivity and profitable outcomes through discussion, analysis and networking of the participants.
Expert Panelists
A formidable array of local and international experts in related fields will discuss contemporary issues and challenges facing the global Halaal industry during their presentations and various panel discussions.
The World Halal Council (WHC)
A federation of Halaal certifying bodies established 25 years ago with the main objective of standardising Halaal certification and accreditation procedures. Headquartered in Turkiye, it promotes collaboration and sharing of knowledge between its members. SANHA is a founding member and holds an executive position.
Their 25th Silver Jubilee General Assembly program will be held concurrently in South Africa alongside the International Halaal Conference. Esteemed delegates representing member bodies will be present at this historical event.
