“He was always grateful for Allah’s favours. Accordingly, Allah chose him and guided him the Right Way.” (al-Qur’aan Ch 16 – Verse 121)
In this verse, Allah Almighty highlights a key characteristic of the Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him), which contributed to him becoming a friend of Allah Almighty and receiving His guidance. Gratitude is thus a divine quality that attracts Allah’s Mercies and Blessings upon those who embody it.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all attendees, including the public, officials, staff, trustees, suppliers, friends, and well-wishers, for making our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on November 10, 2024, in Cape Town a success. Jazakumullahu Khairan. Your esteemed presence and numerous messages of support have inspired our officials and team to strive for excellence in the service of Halaal, Insha’Allah.
In line with our founding principles of transparency and openness, our officials presented their reports, including our audited financial statements, to the public.

- Total number of queries fielded by the Consumer Helpline: 13,399
- Total number of new applications received: 622
- Total number of certificates withdrawn/cancelled: 241
- Total number of new plants certified: 343
- Total number of audits conducted: 23,313
- Total number of social media followers: 63,561
- Total number of staff under direct employment: 172
- Total number of staff indirectly employed: Approx. 500
The highlight of the event was the keynote address by Shaykh Alexander, the Imaam of Musjid al-Quds. His eloquent and riveting talk left the audience inspired and in awe of his profound knowledge. He emphasised the Prophetic directive of adopting Ihsaan, which translates to excellence in all our actions, and its impact on Halaal certification.
