Muslims are commanded to strive constantly towards the ultimate objective of attaining the Pleasure of Allah Ta‘ala. This constant drive for improvement and Divine felicity has been clearly demonstrated by our beloved Nabi, Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam’s teachings, deeds and actions from the very beginning of his Divine mission till its completion.
Amongst the multitude of changes recorded in our history, it was during the month of Sha‘baan that the Qiblah direction was changed from Masjid al Aqsa in Jerusalem to the direction of the Ka‘bah in Makkah al Mukarramah.
To draw on this as an analogy, and in the spirit of recognising this change for the better which was wholly embraced by the Noble Companions radhiyallahu anhum, lets us also implement a regimen of change this Sha‘baan which is just a few days away, and represents a perfect springboard towards achieving spiritual heights in Ramadhaan.
Let us use this month to seriously reflect, review, realign and reset our approach, and increase in good deeds from now so that we may draw maximum benefit in Ramadhaan.
With Halaal diet and conduct being key, crucial and central to spiritual elevation and enjoying a favourable and enduring relationship with our Creator, there can be no better change than improving our approach to Halaal. Remember, just a morsel of Haraam compromises one’s spirituality and leads to rejection of our supplications (du‘aa) and ibaadah.
Should you or your institution require information or a talk on Halaal, we will be happy to arrange it.
