Rabi’al-Awwal 1447

The blessed month of Rabi‘ al-Awwal brings to mind the greatest gift to humanity – the birth of Rasulullah sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, whose life remains the perfect example of guidance and mercy for all humanity.

Among his teachings was the emphasis on consuming what is pure and Halaal, and avoiding what is Haraam.

Allah Ta‘ala commands all mankind, “O mankind! Eat of that which is lawful and good on the earth…” (al-Baqarah 2:168)

Rasulullah sallallahu’alayhi wasallam taught that Halaal sustenance brings blessing and acceptance of worship. On the contrary, the consumption of Haraam impacts worship, corrupts the heart, and darkens the soul.

Today, food production is highly complex… ingredients are sourced from across the globe, processed in many different ways, and hidden within labels we can barely understand. The risk of consuming Haraam, even unknowingly, is very real.

This makes safeguarding Halaal a vital responsibility. Alhamdulillah, for nearly 30 years, SANHA has been serving the Ummah through certification, monitoring, education, and awareness – ensuring that the food on our tables remains pure and Halaal.

Have a question about a product or outlet? Unsure about an ingredient? Want a talk at your Masjid, school, or organisation? SANHA is here to serve you. Together, we uphold this noble mission.

As we mark Rabi‘ al-Awwal, let us recommit ourselves to the guidance of Rasulullah sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam and ensure that our sustenance remains Halaal and Tayyib. May Allah Ta‘ala grant us barakah in every morsel. Āmeen.
