As part of its ongoing engagement with the community, and in keeping with its mission, now entering its 30th year, SANHA continues to offer educational programs on the importance of Halaal to schools and tertiary institutions.
These programs are designed to create awareness and understanding of Halaal as a fundamental aspect of Islamic life. They are customised to suit the various educational phases and are conducted on-site at schools and institutions by SANHA’s Ulama.
With schools having returned from their year-end summer vacation and the new academic year now underway, SANHA would like to extend an open invitation to school principals, governing bodies, Imaams, and musjid & madrasah administrators to partner with us in hosting these programs at their respective institutions.
The importance of Halaal is clearly established in the Qur’aan, where Allah Ta‘ala commands the Believers to consume only that which is lawful and pure. Adherence to Halaal is not merely a dietary preference but a mandatory religious duty that directly impacts one’s faith, spirituality, and acceptance of worship.
This responsibility is further emphasised in the profound words of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) who said:
“Every one of you is a shepherd, and every one of you is responsible for his flock…..”
(Bukhari and Muslim)
This Hadith serves as a powerful reminder that parents, educators, religious leaders, and community custodians are entrusted with the responsibility of guiding those under their care, especially our youth, towards correct Islamic practices, including Halaal consumption.
Through these educational programs, SANHA aims to support this trust by empowering communities with sound knowledge, reinforcing accountability, and nurturing a generation that understands and values Halaal as an integral part of their Deen.
